Matt and I met in 2023 — and while we would love to say it was a chance encounter, that wouldn’t exactly be true.

If you know us, you know Laci Bryson and Cindy Verhalen. One day, during our brothers' flag football games, Matt’s bonus mom and my mom struck up a conversation. The moment they realized they both had single, older children, it was decided. In their eyes, we were absolutely destined to get married — despite the fact that Laci had never met me and my mom had never met Matt!

Our first official meeting was at T-Blanco’s for lunch. What I didn’t know was that I wasn’t just meeting Matt… I was meeting his entire family! I had been told it would just be my family — so you can imagine my surprise.

Even though our beginning may have felt a little “arranged,” it truly turned out to be a match made in heaven. From that first lunch on, we’ve been inseparable — and we’re so grateful our moms decided to play matchmaker that day at the football field.
